For most of his life, Valen's mother was away travelling the world for work related reasons, so he never really got to learn French from her or be close to her. He moved to Japan around 3 years old and stays there up till now.
Valen's family revolves around fashion. His mother is a famous fashion designer in France & his dad is a retired clothing designer. Because of this, Valen got interested in dressing up and fashion & now has it as his main hobby.
Growing up, Valen met Michi Tsuji in elementary school. Valen would describe Michi as his ‘older sibling’ and both deeply cared for each other. Michi was really fascinated by idols and promised Val they will make a unit together when they grow up.
Enrolling into Yumenosaki, both created a unit going by Eternal Sleep with a kawaii metal theme. But during the war, the unit was running low on funds & Valen lost the interest to maintain the band, often being lazy to go do practice, it was hard to keep up.
Unbeknownst to Valen, Michi was struggling with several issues in their family and at school. Knowing Michi, you would never suspect something was brewing up. Sadly, due to the overwhelming pressure from the war, they ended up killing themselves. This affected Valen pretty badly. It felt like losing a part of himself. He still, till this day, blames himself for the passing of his friend and continues to hold a grudge against Eichi for starting the war.
Valen started skipping school, distancing from everyone and soon Eternal Sleep was on the verge of breaking up from inactivity.
With the help of Ryota Masaru, Valen managed to rebrand Eternal Sleep into AD★RE, a J-pop, synthpop unit with a cutesy starry theme. He wished to avoid anything negative and leave everything in the past related to Michi which caused the rebrand of the unit. Because of that, Valen tried to cover up and destroy all documents and evidence of Eternal Sleep ever existing in the first place. AD★RE went into great success this year, carrying on Michi’s promise.
Valen became more active in certain activities and genuinely felt much better.
Valen is still active in AD★RE with Ryota Masaru.
